Laser Hair Removal
Excessive hair growth is the result of heredity, hormonal factors, and some medications. Commonly treated areas are the face, back, neck, legs, bikini line, chest and underarms. Any skin area can be treated except eyelids. For optimal results, The Medical Cosmetic Center of Olathe suggests an initial series of four to six treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart.
The Medical Cosmetic Center of Olathe has designed a progressive system for the removal of unwanted hair that combines more than one method of treatment. Hair Removal Lasers remove hair by targeting the pigment in the hair follicle itself. The light of the laser is transferred into heat energy which is absorbed by the hairs' pigment. This heat causes destruction at the bed where the hair grows, and when performed properly will prevent the follicle from reproducing a new hair. This treatment is highly effective, but can only be used on hair with a significant level of pigment. Lasers will work on hair within the black and brown spectrum of color.
