Chemical Peel

A mild chemical peel is a non-invasive technique for restoring wrinkled, blemished, unevenly pigmented, or sun-damaged facial skin. A medical-grade chemical solution is used to peel away the skin's damaged outer layers. The new cells and collagen are stimulated during the healing process to produce a smoother, tighter, younger-looking skin surface. Chemical peel can be used on the entire face or on specific regions such as the forehead or areas around the mouth. A peel does not eliminate sagging or excess skin. Each treatment is customized for patient skin type, specific problem areas and the delicate areas of the face. The depth of the peel is dependent on the concentration and type of acid, the duration of contact, and a person's skin type and sensitivity. The treatment issues will be discussed during your consultation with your Consultant at The Medical Cosmetic Center of Olathe.

The Glycolic & Lactic Peel works synergistically to exfoliate the skin while reducing irritation and dryness, because of glycolic acid's molecular structure, it penetrates quicker and deeper than other AHAs to perform at all levels of the skin. Lactic acid is an effective yet gentle AHA that increases moisture levels by stimulating the production of glycosaminoglycans. By accelerating the cell renewal process, stimulating collagen synthesis, and improving elastin fibers in the dermis, this light chemical peel revitalizes photodamaged skin and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The peel is appropriate for serial applications and as a companion treatment for microdermabrasion or photo skin rejuvenation.

The Salicyclic & Mandelic Peel works synergistically to exfoliate the skin while decongesting pores and reducing irritation. Although one of the strongest AHAs, mandelic acid's large molecular structure and even penetration help prevent inflammation and irritation that can sometimes occur with AHA use. Salicyclic acid is a lipid soluble BHA that penetrates pores to dissolve sebum and cellular debris. By accelerating the cell renewal process, stimulating collagen synthesis, and improving elastin fibers in the dermis, this light chemical peel revitalizes sensitive skin and helps improve the appearance of problematic skin. The peel is appropriate for serial applications and as a companion treatment for microdermabrasion or photo skin rejuvenation.
